Product Details
Made in Nepal from locally sourced, undyed nettle and Chinese silk, Bower Rug by designer Edith van Berkel takes an unexpected approach to plant-fiber weaving. Traditional textures meet vibrant silk accents—lemon, leaf, ink, copper, sky—for a subtle yet striking contrast in fresh colorways. Designed with a deep respect for traditional techniques and a commitment to reducing environmental impact, Bower blends natural materials, artisanal craft, and modern color into a unique statement.
- Traditional weave showcases the inherent variations in natural materials.
- Textured soumak border with silk stitching contrasts continuous silk rows opposite.
- Honors traditional craftsmanship while achieving minimal environmental footprint.
- Collaboration between Dutch designer Edith van Berkel and textile house Maharam.
